Danny Kirkhum started taking music lessons at age four, and began
playing trombone at eleven. Since graduating from Berklee College
of Music in 1998, he has done performances with groups ranging from
the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and the American Symphony Orchestra
to Roy Hargrove's Generation 'X' Big Band. Kirkhum is currently
a member of Illinois Jacquet's Big Band as well as Kendrick Oliver's
New Life Jazz Orchestra, which recently released it's first CD entitled
"Welcome to New Life". He also played with Eric Reed's Big Band
in a concert series
at Columbia University's Miller Theater honoring
the music of Billy Strayhorn. Danny is now pursuing a Master's Degree
in jazz performance at the Manhattan School of Music.
